April Après-Ski

Unwinding in Lapland’s Spring Snow

After a day on the slopes, unwind with après-ski fun in Lapland. From sunny terraces in Levi to fireside relaxation in Salla, here are four perfect April spots!

April in Lapland means longer days, sunny slopes, and the perfect excuse to kick back after an adventure-filled day in the snow. Whether you’re skiing in Levi, Ylläs, Saariselkä, or Salla, there’s no better way to wrap up the day than with some classic après-ski fun. Here are four ways to enjoy the best of Lapland’s spring slopes and social scene!

1. Slope-Side Sunbathing in Levi

Levi is home to some of Lapland’s liveliest après-ski spots, and in April, the outdoor terraces are the place to be. Grab a hot drink (or something stronger), lean back in a deckchair, and soak up the Arctic sun. After a long winter, it’s pure bliss to relax under the bright blue sky with the snow still glistening around you.

2. Sauna & Ice Dip in Ylläs

Nothing says Finnish après-ski like a hot sauna followed by an ice-cold dip! Ylläs offers lakeside saunas where you can sweat out the day’s adventures before taking a quick plunge into an icy hole in the lake. It’s invigorating, refreshing, and, yes, totally worth it!

3. Arctic Cocktails in Saariselkä

Saariselkä might be known for its long toboggan runs, but it also knows how to mix a great drink. Head to one of its cozy bars for a locally inspired cocktail—think cloudberry liqueur or a warm glögi with a Lapland twist. Cheers to a day well spent in the snow!

4. Fireside Chill in Salla

For a more laid-back après-ski, Salla’s lodges offer the perfect atmosphere. Find a fireplace, grab a cup of steaming hot chocolate, and watch the last light fade over the fells. If you’re lucky, the northern lights might even put on a show to end the night in style.

April-ski

April in Lapland is all about spring skiing and après-ski vibes. Whether you want to dance on a terrace, sip Arctic cocktails, or simply unwind by a fire, there’s no better way to celebrate the season!
